About Us
Founded in 2018 by Dr. Natasha Holmes, And Still We Rise (ASWR) is a liberation-focused collective offering mental health services and equity-centered consulting grounded in justice, healing, and collective care. We support individuals—and the spaces where people live, work, and learn—in navigating the impacts of systemic oppression while building toward equity, wellness, and systemic change.
We believe that true healing happens on both an individual and collective level. That’s why our work is two-pronged: we accompany people on their personal healing journeys while working to transform the systems that shape our lives. For us, liberation means creating the conditions where individuals and communities can be fully seen, valued, and free—from harm, from systemic barriers, and from oppression.
We center those most impacted by systemic harm—Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color; queer and trans people; and others navigating the intersecting impacts of racism, colonialism, capitalism, and other forms of oppression. Our providers and consultants partner with clients to address these realities while fostering environments rooted in equity, belonging, and care.
Our work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in liberatory praxis. We don’t just aim to treat symptoms—we work to shift the conditions that cause harm. With offices in Massachusetts and Washington State and virtual services reaching beyond, we are committed to walking alongside those we serve as they move toward healing, justice, and new ways of being together.
Internally, we are committed to practicing what we teach—through collective leadership, equity-driven structures, and ongoing internal reflection and accountability. Our Critical Consciousness Project is one example of how we deepen our own awareness and responsibility as practitioners and partners in liberation.
Whether you're seeking personal healing or collective transformation, we invite you to be in community with us—because liberation is a practice we build together.
