Dr. Barbara Okeny, Psy.D., LMHC, ATR-BC (She/Her)
Psychotherapist and Consultant at And Still We Rise, LLC, Dr. Okeny is a Provisionally Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Board-Certified Art Therapist. Dr. Okeny received a Doctoral Degree from William James College, Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and Master of Arts Degree from Lesley University. She practices under the supervision of Dr. Traice Webb-Bradley.
Dr. Okeny specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, families, immigrants, and refugees. Through her program at William James College, she specialized in Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience and African and Caribbean Mental Health. Her clinical interests include trauma, racial trauma, stress, identity exploration and development, anxiety, and depression.
Dr. Okeny has training in trauma-informed treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, and art therapy. Her favorite past times include spending time with her friends, family, and community, traveling, baking, painting, and printmaking. She engages in community organizing, working collaboratively to address systemic inequities that center racial justice.
