Nani Swaminathan, MSW LCSW (They/She)

Senior Liberation Consultant for And Still We Rise. Nani Swaminathan, MSW LCSW (they/she) serves as the Survivor Services Manager for The Center for Hope and Healing, Inc. in Lowell, Massachusetts. Holding a Master of Social Work from the Erikson Institute in Chicago, Nani works to support and advocate for survivors of sexual violence in their journeys toward healing. Nani also works as a consultant, facilitator/trainer, and curriculum developer.

As a non-binary, queer, Tamil/South Asian therapist, social worker, and community leader, Nani believes that accessible and equitable mental health services can be achieved by attuning more deeply to cultural influence and social/emotional development. Nani's clinical practice is rooted in honoring culture, connecting deeply through relational practices and psychodynamic frameworks, and utilizing ecological systems theories to understand survivors and their families more deeply. They believe that by centering the voices of the historically marginalized and oppressed, intergenerational healing is possible.

When they aren't working, you can find Nani reading, writing, cooking, napping, singing, cuddling with their 2 dogs, 2 cats, and their partner. They currently reside in Leominster, Massachusetts on the native lands of the Agawam and Nipmuc people.

Nani is fluent in English.
