Gail Byas, M.A., NBC-HWC (She/They)

Gail Byas (she/they) is a Life Coach for And Still We Rise, LLC. They are a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), credentialed school psychologist, and hold an M.A. in Education/School Psychology from Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, California. They also have a B.A. in Biblical and Religious Studies and completed graduate-level coursework in Philosophy of Religion. Gail identifies as non-binary and queer and has a strong commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, advocacy, and intersectional allyship.

As a coach, Gail partners with LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals in reclaiming identity, belonging and thriving to empower personal and collective liberation. In a world that prizes some bodies, voices, and identities over others, a person’s internal compass can go off center, generating cumulative stress and feelings of displacement from their deepest sense of self and connection with others. That is why Gail has chosen to support clients in exploring areas of life or identity that have gotten pushed to the side, lost, or devalued and to nurture what is personally life-giving. Gail uses narrative coaching methods to fuel client self-liberation from disempowering and oppressive societal messages or stories, creating space for new stories and counternarratives to emerge. They have experience providing support with body image, LGBTQIA+ spirituality and faith-identity reconciliation, coming out, transitioning, relationships, wellness practices, and work-life balance.

Gail deeply believes in the liberative, creative abilities and rights of individuals and communities to define wellness, healing, and identity on their own terms. Their approach is collaborative, strengths-based, trauma-informed (including religious trauma), and grounded in intersectional feminist, critical race, queer, and trans theories. They draw from narrative, solution-focused, liberation, and anti-oppressive practice frameworks.

Outside of work, you will find them reading/researching, walking in the nearby park, off-roading in their Jeep, and spending time with friends. They love trees, birds, and nature drawing/journaling.

Gail is fluent in English.
